Boniface moment of magic seals win, three points for Leverkusen

Victor Boniface was Bayer Leverkusen in their thrilling 4-3 defeat of visiting VFL Wolfsburg at the BayArena Sunday afternoon.

The Nigerian was subbed on for Patrik Schick on 68 minutes with scores at 3-3 and fired in the winner 25 minutes later.

In the third minute of stoppage time, Boniface produced a moment of magic.

After receiving the ball with his back to goal, the Nigerian striker turned and fired a low shot into the bottom corner, sending the BayArena into raptures.

It was a fitting end to an incredible match, showcasing Leverkusen’s never-say-die attitude and their ability to produce in crucial moments like they did all through last season and which fetched them their first Bundesliga title as well as making them the first team in Germany’s top tier to go a whole season unbeaten.

Boniface has now netted three times in four Bundesliga games this season and four in six games across all competitions.
