Boniface seeking to make Bayern Munich 12th club he’ll score against in Bundesliga
Victor Boniface is pumped up for Bayer Leverkusen’s trip to the Allianz Arena where they will face table-topping Bayern Munich in a battle between first and second in the 2024/25 Bundesliga.
The Nigerian has scored three times in four Bundesliga games this season but has never scored against the Bavarians who he has faced just once. In fact, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich are just one of six Bundesliga teams Boniface is yet to score against and the 23-year-old will be looking to change that as Bayer Leverkusen seek to go top of the log with victory in Munich.
The first time the Super Eagle visited the Allianz Arena, he was on for the entire duration of the game and helped his club secure a point with a 94th minute penalty converted by Exequiel Palacios for a 2-2 draw.
Boniface is back in Munich and will want to make Bayern Munich the 12th team in the Bundesliga he will score against.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium forward has scored 17 times in 27 Bundesliga games since he joined Bayer Leverkusen in July 2023 and needs three more goals to become the fourth Nigerian to score at least 20 goals in the Bundesliga, four more to tie Taiwo Awoniyi as the joint fourth to scoring Nigerian in the history of the competition behind Jonathan Akpoborie (60), Victor Agali (32) and Anthony Ujah (30).
