‘Bring on the Super Falcons,’ England goalie, Mary Earps says Three Lionesses don’t fear any team

England goalkeeper Mary Earps believes the Three Lionesses can go all the way for their first World Cup triumph and she is confident they will roar past the Super Falcons when the two teams meet on Monday in their round of 16 tie.

England annihilated China 6-1 in their final group game while Nigeria drew goalless with Ireland to end the group phase without defeat for the first time in nine appearances.

Earps is not intimidated by the African side’s impressive tournament so far – or the big guns left to come should England progress further.

“Our qualities have shown through since we’ve been playing together,” Earps said. “I think we’re in a good spot.
“I don’t think we fear anyone in general.

“I’m glad it happened for us [the 6-1 win over China on Tuesday]. It’s not going to always go that way but as long as we’re keeping the wins on the board, then there’s no complaints here.”

The winner of England’s tie against Nigeria will be up against another surprise package, Colombia or Jamaica.

The World Cup has already claimed several high-profile victims, with two-time winners Germany, Olympic champions Canada and Brazil among those to bow out early.
