‘Bring On Usyk, Tyson Fury, Wilder!’: Efe Ajagba Puts Heavyweight Division on Notice with Zuffa Debut Win

Nigerian heavyweight Efe Ajagba has thrown down the gauntlet to Oleksandr Usyk after delivering a thunderous knockout victory over former IBF champion Charles Martin in his Zuffa Boxing debut.

Ajagba stopped Martin in the fourth round of their main event clash, cementing his arrival under the Zuffa banner with a performance that showcased both power and composure.

Martin began brightly, using lateral movement to frustrate the 31-year-old Olympian and catching him with sharp counters. But the tide turned in the third round when Ajagba detonated a right hand that floored the former champion.

Although Martin showed resilience to beat the count, Ajagba wasted no time in the fourth. Another crushing right hand sent Martin down again before Ajagba pinned him against the ropes, unleashing a barrage of unanswered shots.

Referee Thomas Taylor stepped in at 1:11 of the round to halt the contest, handing Martin his third defeat in five fights.

Speaking after the bout, Ajagba made his intentions clear. ‘I don’t feel his power, but you know, he has a lot of experience. I didn’t expect that … he was very sharp. I’m ready for everyone in the top 10.

‘But nobody’s mentioning my name, like I said, but it’s obvious. Nobody’s mentioning my name. Nobody’s calling my name. I’m in the top 10. I’m ready to go. I want to fight [guys in] the top 10, top five,’ he said.

Ajagba then issued a direct challenge to the division’s elite.

‘It doesn’t matter. Usyk, Tyson Fury, Wilder, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m willing to fight anybody in the top ten,’ he declared, putting the heavyweight division firmly on notice.

The victory marks a significant step for Ajagba, who continues to build momentum as he eyes a shot at the sport’s biggest names.
