Bukayo Saka seeking to equal Thierry Henry’s feat, targets 60th Arsenal goal

Bukayo Saka has been involved in 17 goals in his last 19 Premier League appearances (12 goals, 5 assists), assisting in each of the first two games in 2024/25.

The only Arsenal player to assist a goal in the first three games of a Premier League season was Thierry Henry in 2004/05.

Saka scored and assisted in the Gunners’ opening game of the season win against Wolves and was on hand to give Leandro Trossard the assist to score Arsenal’s first goal in the 2-0 win at Aston Vila last week.

The Nigeria-born England international will be banking on his goal involvement record against Brighton who visits the Emirates stadium for Saturday’s early kickoff for his third assist.

The 22-year-old has scored twice and provided two assists in nine games he has played against the Seagulls. The two times he scored against the visitors, Arsenal won the game including the 3-0 win at the AMEX Stadium in April.

Saka achieved his 100th win in 172 Premier League appearances in the game against Aston Villa and he will be looking for another milestone achievement if he scores twice on Saturday. It will be his 50th in the Premier League.

If he scores, it will be his 60th in 229 games for the Gunners.
