CAF African Schools Football Championship: Nigeria’s representatives to be decided Friday

Nigeria’s flag-bearers for the WAFU-B Schools Football Championship, a qualifying tournament for the CAF African Schools Football Championship, will be determined this Friday in Abuja.

The ongoing round-robin competition is being held at the FIFA Goal Project inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium and the Area 3 Football Pitch.

Participating teams include: Female category: FCT, Adamawa, Gombe, and Lagos States, and Male category: FCT, Kaduna, Delta, Enugu, Ekiti, and Taraba States.

The winning school in each category will represent Nigeria at the WAFU-B Championship in Burkina Faso, scheduled for 27th-30th November.

In addition to the champion schools, exceptional players from other teams will be selected to form a ‘Schools National Team’.

Successful teams from the WAFU-B tournament will join qualifiers from other African regions, CECAFA, COSAFA, UNAF, UNIFFAC, and WAFU-A, at the CAF African Schools Football Championship next year.
