CAF Confederation Cup: Enyimba to face ‘Shooting Star of Lomé’ in second round
Enyimba FC of Aba, drawn bye in the first round of the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup, will play Togolese side, Étoile Filante in the second round of the competition.
Étoile Filante which translates as ‘Shooting Star of Lomé’ and are known locally as ‘The Meteors’ defeated Guinean side, Hafia Football Club on away goals rule after the Togolese drew 1-1 in the first leg in Bamako, Mali where the Guineas played their home game. The second leg ended 0-0 also at the same venue.
The Togolese will host the first leg at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, Mali where they play their home games on the weekend of September 13-15 while the second leg will hold at the
Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state where the Aba based side will be playing their home games.
Enyimba qualify to play in the competition after finishing third behind Rangers of Enugu and Remo Stars of Ikenne in the Nigeria Premier Professional Football League, NPFL.
