Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina market value soars; Onuachu’s drops, Iwobi, Ndidi unchanged

Fulham star, Calvin Bassey’s status as the most valuable Nigerian defender was further affirmed Tuesday following the Premier League market values update by transfermarkt.

The 25-year-old who joined Fulham in July 2023 has been a key player for the Cottagers since he joined from Dutch Eredivise side, Ajax and this has not gone unnoticed by Transfermarkt.

The Nigerian’s value has soared from €16m just last December to €25m in the latest update to rank number 67 among all players playing as Centre-Back. He also becomes the fourth most valuable Nigerian behind the trio of Victor Osimhen (€75m), Ademola Lookman (€55m) and Victor Boniface (€45m).

Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina’s value has also risen after his incredible display this season.

The 28-year-old who has scored twice, provided one assist and kept 11 clean sheets in 29 Premier League appearances this is the second most valuable Nigerian defender after Bassey with a market valuation of €20m, up by €6m from last December.

Aina is now ranked number 25 among all players playing as Right-Back, number 6 among all players from Nigeria and 221 among all players in the Premier League.

While the market value of Alex Iwobi (€25m) and Wilfred Ndidi (€18m) remains unchanged, that of Southampton forward, Paul Onuachu further dropped from 11m last December to 8m this month.

The 30-year-old is now ranked number 19 among all players from Nigeria and 174 among all players playing as Centre-Forward.

His compatriot at the club, Joe Aribo’s market value however rose from €5m to €6m in the latest update.
