Chelsea 0-1 Man City: Chelsea 10th on the log, fifth best London team in the EPL, so far..

Chelsea are still 19 points behind leaders Arsenal and 10 off the UEFA Champions League spot after they lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the final matchweek 19 game of the English Premier League Thursday at Stamford Bridge.

The result means Graham Potter’s side are still 10th in the Premier League and fifth best team in London behind Arsenal who also top the Premier League log, fifth placed Tottenham, seventh placed Fulham and ninth placed Brentford.

For Manchester City, Riyad Mahrez goal was enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to close the gap to Arsenal.

The Algerian came off the bench to score the only goal of the match.

Mahrez had a tap-in after a great ball from Jack Grealish, and that proved enough with Chelsea unable to mount any sort of late charge.

Chelsea were forced into two changes before 20 minutes had been played at Stamford Bridge, Raheem Sterling forced off against his former club with an apparent hamstring injury before Christian Pulisic trudged off shortly afterwards.

City barely had an attack after taking the lead, content to sit back in their shape and hold on to what they had. Graham Potter brought off a far from pleased Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was brought on for the injured Sterling early on, but the changes were unable to inspire the hosts to an equaliser.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday at the Etihad in the third round of the FA Cup.
