Chelsea Announce Signing of Yisa Alao Until 2028

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of promising left-back Yisa Alao from Sheffield Wednesday, adding another highly-rated youngster to their ranks.

The 17-year-old joins the Blues on a deal running until 2028, with the initial fee reported to be just over £500,000. Performance-related add-ons could see the total rise to around £1 million if certain conditions are met.

Alao’s arrival comes after Chelsea fended off strong competition from Manchester United and Liverpool, both of whom had shown serious interest in the teenager.

Having come through Sheffield Wednesday’s academy, Alao made his senior debut in August and has since featured in five matches, including an FA Cup tie against Brentford and a Championship clash with Portsmouth.
