Chukwueze looking to score first goal of the season on his 40th game for AC Milan

Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze will be looking to use the biggest stage for club football in Europe, the UEFA Champions League to score his first goal of the season on his 40th game for Serie A giant, AC Milan.

The Super Eagle had a great pre-season for the Rossonnerri and all eyes were on him to start delivering in his second season in Italy, but the 25-year-old has, so far, failed to fulfil those expectations and Tuesday presents a perfect chance for a redemption of sort.

AC Milan visit the BayArena for their first ever clash with Victor Boniface’s Bayer Leverkusen and Chukwueze will be aiming for not just his first goal of the season but also his fifth in the UEFA Champions League on his 14th appearance.

Chukwueze is just five goals away from equaling the nine goals scored by the duo of Obafemi Martins and his bosom friend, Victor Osimhen as the top scoring Nigerian in the competition.

A goal on Tuesday will draw the former Villarreal of Spain’s winger closer to the duo and it will be his third for Milan in five appearances. It will also be his ninth in 43 games across all European club competitions.
