Chukwueze Ruled Out of Fulham’s EFL Cup Clash, Onyeka Eyes First Goal for Brentford

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze will miss Fulham’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie against League Two side Wycombe Wanderers, Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed.
The Nigerian, who joined the Cottagers on loan from AC Milan on transfer deadline day, has only featured briefly since arriving. An injury sustained during international duty earlier this month has sidelined him from Fulham’s last two Premier League matches and now Tuesday’s cup fixture at Adams Park.
Compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey may also be rested or omitted from the matchday squad to preserve their fitness ahead of Fulham’s weekend Premier League clash against struggling Wolves at Craven Cottage.
If selected, Iwobi will mark his seventh appearance for Fulham and 29th overall, having already contributed four goals and three assists.
Bassey, meanwhile, is targeting his fifth outing for the club.
Over at Brentford, midfielder Frank Onyeka is set to make his third EFL Cup start of the season when the Bees travel to Blundell Park to face Grimsby Town, the surprise giant-killers who knocked out Manchester United.
Onyeka, who made his competition debut in August 2021, will be hoping to notch his first EFL Cup goal in what will be his 12th appearance.
