Chukwueze Set for Full EPL Debut, Iwobi Hunts First Spurs Goal as Onyeka Pushes for Brentford Return

Samuel Chukwueze could be set for his first Premier League start this weekend as Fulham prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The winger, on loan from AC Milan, has caught the eye in five substitute appearances, registering two assists.

His energetic cameo against Sunderland, where he created five chances and set up Raul Jimenez’s winner, may persuade Marco Silva to hand him a full debut.

Alex Iwobi will also be chasing a personal milestone. The Nigerian midfielder has never scored against Spurs despite facing them 16 times across all competitions, 14 of those in the league.

He has found the net against Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, but remains goalless against both Tottenham and Manchester City. While he has four league victories over Spurs, he has yet to beat City in 15 attempts.

Iwobi has been ever-present for Fulham this season, starting all 12 league games and contributing one goal and two assists. His overall Premier League record stands at 32 goals and 37 assists, the latter the highest by any Nigerian in the competition’s history.

He is also closing in on a landmark 10,000 completed passes, currently at 9,481, while holding records for most starts (240), most appearances (303) and most minutes played (20,796) by a Nigerian in the league.

Calvin Bassey is expected to continue his run in the side, likely making his 12th start of the campaign. The defender has featured in 76 Premier League matches for Fulham since joining from Ajax in July 2023, scoring twice but none so far this season.

Meanwhile, at the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka is pushing for his first Premier League start since March 2024. He has made six substitute appearances this term but has recently been left on the bench, and will be eager to reclaim a starting role.
