‘Come and Get Them’: Senegal Defender Niakhaté Hits Back at CAF Decision

Senegal defender Moussa Niakhaté has delivered a defiant response after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stripped his country of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title and awarded it to Morocco.
Reacting on Instagram, the Olympique Lyonnais centre-back posted a photo of himself with his medal and the trophy from Senegal’s coronation night in Rabat, accompanied by the caption: ‘Come and get them! They’re crazy.’ He added: ‘It’s not AI, it’s real,’ underlining his disbelief at the ruling.
Niakhaté’s post was set to the soundtrack of French rap group Sniper’s Gravé dans la roche, a symbolic choice that reinforced his message that Senegal’s triumph was carved in stone.
His reaction encapsulates the anger and frustration felt within the Senegalese camp, who insist they won the title on the pitch and now face the prospect of a prolonged legal battle to reclaim their crown.
