Conte: ‘Ask Napoli about Osimhen, not me’
Napoli boss Antonio Conte says he has no control over who comes in and who goes out on transfer at the club and urged the media to ask the club.
The Italian lost 3-0 away at Hellas Verona in his first official game in the Serie A as Napoli coach and was asked post-match about the situation regarding Victor Osimhen who was not listed for the match.
Osimhen has made his desire known to leave the club, but Napoli chiefs are insisting interested clubs will have to fork out the player’s 130m euros release clause before any transfer can take place.
The Nigerian’s presence is blocking Napoli’s move for Chelsea player, Romelu Lukaku who Conte has picked to lead the line at the club.
‘This is a question you should ask the club and not me. I see that Osimhen has trained separately since the retreat. You should ask the club, absolutely not me. I said it straight away, I was a spectator on this matter,’ said the former Italy international in an interview on Sky.
