Conte Eyes Lookman as Napoli Plot €40m Move

Napoli could be preparing a major attacking reinforcement this January, with Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman emerging as a surprise target.

According to reports from Sky Sport, Antonio Conte is keen on the Nigerian international, and the club may move decisively once outgoing transfers are finalized.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis is close to completing deals that will see Lorenzo Lucca join Nottingham Forest and Noa Lang head to Galatasaray.

Their departures would free up space in the squad and finances, paving the way for new signings. Sporting director Giovanni Manna is said to be working on what could be one of the window’s standout coups.

Atalanta, however, are expected to demand around €40 million for Lookman’s signature.

Napoli’s zero-balance market restrictions complicate matters, but the club could offset the cost with savings from outgoing salaries.

Conte’s admiration for Lookman adds weight to the speculation, with Sky Sport noting that ‘Napoli can go direct on him.’ The winger’s pace, creativity, and eye for goal would address Napoli’s need for fresh attacking options as they look to strengthen their push in Serie A and Europe.
