Conte: Napoli and Osimhen have agreed on summer exit

New Napoli head coach, Antonio Conte says the Partenopei have agreed to part ways and that the club will honour their agreement to sell the Nigerian this summer.

The former Chelsea of England boss told the media on Wednesday that he cannot change the agreement that was made clear to him when he took over about two weeks ago.

‘I know the situation regarding Osimhen. I know that there are agreements, that it is a situation different from all the others. I can only assist.

‘He is a player of the highest level, exceptional, but I cannot enter into any discussion because it is part of previous agreements which have been clearly stated to me.’

Osimhen scored 31 goals in 39 games for Napoli in the 2022/23 season with 26 of the goals coming in the Serie A which helped the club to its first Scudetto in 33 years.

The Nigerian was also named the top scorer in the Serie A, the first African to top score in a single Serie A season.

The 25 year old however under-performed with Napoli last season albeit he still managed to 17 goals in 32 appearances with 15 of the goals scored in the Serie A.
