Contracts signed as Nigerian fighters gear up for GOtv Boxing Night 34: Jam Festival
Preparations for the highly anticipated GOtv Boxing Night 34: Jam Festival are officially underway as top Nigerian boxers signed contracts for their bouts on Wednesday in Lagos.
The signing ceremony marked a pivotal moment in the countdown to the December 26 event, which promises to deliver a thrilling blend of sport and entertainment to close out the year.
The lineup features five explosive bouts, including a World Boxing Federation (WBF) light heavyweight title fight and a national super bantamweight title contest.
Among the fighters who formalized their participation are Tobiloba ‘Smiling Assassin’ Ijomoni, Sadiq ‘Happy Boy’ Adeleke, Durotimi ‘Tiny’ Agboola, Ezekiel ‘Touch’ Seun, Faruk Taofeek, and Segun ‘Odi’ Gbobaniyi, each bringing their unique style and hunger for victory to the ring.
Bamidele Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Flykite Productions, the event’s organizers, emphasized the importance of the signing ceremony in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of Nigerian boxing.
‘The signing exercise is a crucial part of ensuring that both boxers and fans get a transparent, well-organised event,’ Johnson said. ‘We are maintaining the same standards that have made GOtv Boxing Night the country’s most consistent boxing platform.’
This year’s edition, aptly tagged ‘Jam Festival,’ will continue the tradition of combining boxing with music and comedy, a format that has successfully expanded the sport’s reach and captivated new audiences.
Since its inception in 2014, GOtv Boxing Night has hosted 33 editions, showcasing the rise of Nigeria’s finest boxing talents and broadcasting live across Africa via SuperSport.
