Corriere dello Sport: Osimhen chooses Galatasaray

In a major development in the summer transfer market, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has communicated his decision to join Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray SK, turning down an extraordinary offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the 26-year-old Napoli forward declined a lucrative €40 million annual offer from Al-Hilal, choosing instead to pursue a move to Istanbul. Galatasaray’s long-standing interest and offer of a €16 million yearly salary reportedly played a key role in Osimhen’s final decision.

Sources close to the player confirm that Osimhen has notified Galatasaray of his commitment, following careful consideration during a brief holiday in Nigeria. His desire for competitive football and alignment with personal principles are said to have outweighed financial incentives abroad.

However, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is standing firm: the club will not entertain negotiations below the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract. Only a full payment will facilitate the striker’s departure from the Serie A side.

Victor Osimhen’s time in Naples has been marked by prolific performances and a standout Scudetto-winning campaign. The anticipated move to Galatasaray signals a new chapter for the Nigerian international, with fans in Istanbul eagerly awaiting official confirmation.
