Crystal Palace 1-1 Man United: Casemiro out of Arsenal game as Olise ends Man United nine-game winning run
Arsenal now leads both Manchester clubs by eight points
Casemiro will miss Manchester United’s game with table-toppers Arsenal on Sunday after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in Red Devils’ 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.
Premier League rules state a player who picks up five yellow cards in their club’s first 19 matches will be suspended for one game.
Red Devils’ game at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening was their 19th league match of the season.
Casemiro brought down the on-rushing Wilfried Zaha eight minutes from time to go into the notebook, with both the player and Ten Hag clearly aware of the repercussions.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise scored an absolutely phenomenal free-kick in added time to not only rescue a point for the Eagles but he also ended Manchester United’s nine-game winning run across all competitions.
That late equaliser means Manchester United have failed to win a Premier League match when they have scored first for the first time since February against Southampton, having won 15 in a row before Wednesday night.
It also means Arsenal remain eight points clear of Manchester City and United in second and third with Newcastle in fourth.
