Demehin makes Champions League history with Galatasaray Petrol Ofisi

Super Falcons star, Tosin Demehin was in action for Galatasaray Petrol Ofisi on Wednesday when they made history as the first women’s football team in Turkey to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The team defeated Slavia Prague’s women’s team 2-1 away from home in the Champions League 2nd qualifying round rematch with a goal in extra time.

The home team led the first half with an own goal by Eda Karataş in the 31st minute. The yellow and red leveled the score in the 50th minute with Arzu Karabulut.

After the first leg ended 2-2, the rematch was followed by an extra time period due to the regular time of the rematch ending 1-1.

Nazlıcan Parlak scored the winning goal for the yellow and red in the 100th minute.

Galatasaray won the match 2-1 and qualified for the Champions League group stage.
