Dos Santos dares Warholm, Benjamin, says: I am feeling ready and prepared for the Olympics
Alison Dos Santos says he will be ready to dance to some samba music at the Paris 2024 Olympics after running 47.18 to win the 400m hurdles at the London Diamond League meeting on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilian was third at the Olympics three years ago, and in the absence Olympic champion, Karsten Warholm, won the world title in Oregon the following with USA’s Rai Benjamin third.
Warholm is back for the Paris 2024 Olympics but not as dominating as he was three years ago while Benjamin, second at the World Championships in 2022 and third in 2023 is the world leader going to the Paris Olympics but Dos Santos is not worried by the quality of obstacles between him and his first Olympic 400m hurdles title.
The 24 year old Brazilian said post race in London he is very much in the mood to scale all barriers.
‘I am feeling ready and prepared for the Olympics. I know what I need to do and to fight for that gold medal, so I am very excited. Coming into today I was feeling really strong, during the first part of the race I was pushing too much, but I still managed to win. I am going back to Turkey to rest and prepare for Paris,’ he said.
