D’Tigress face tough group in 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifiers

Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have been handed a challenging draw for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournaments, where they will compete against France and four other African nations.
Despite clinching the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket title, which secured their spot in the qualifiers, D’Tigress, like other continental champions such as the USA, Australia, and Belgium, must still battle through the qualifying rounds to earn a place at the global showpiece.
The qualifiers are scheduled to take place from March 11 to March 17, 2026, and are divided into four groups: Tournaments A, B, C, and D.
Only 16 teams will ultimately secure tickets to the World Cup, making every matchup critical.
