€75m Not Enough: Napoli stall Osimhen deal over instalments and 20% sell-on clause!
Napoli Football Club has confirmed that negotiations are actively underway regarding the potential transfer of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray S.K.
In a statement, the club affirms that while both parties have made tangible progress, several critical financial terms remain unresolved.
Galatasaray has signaled its willingness to meet the €75 million valuation for Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at the Turkish club and registered an exceptional performance, scoring 37 goals and assisting eight times across 41 appearances.
However, Napoli has requested additional contractual safeguards to finalize the transaction. The Italian club has proposed a 20% resale clause on any future transfer involving the player and has rejected Galatasaray’s initial installment plan of €40 million upfront followed by €35 million.
Instead, Napoli demands that the full balance be paid in full before the end of the 2026 calendar year.
Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to join Galatasaray permanently, reiterating his commitment to the Turkish outfit. In light of the ongoing negotiations, Osimhen has submitted medical documentation to excuse his absence from pre-season training with Napoli.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis acknowledged the player’s wish while emphasizing the club’s responsibility in ensuring a transparent and financially sound deal.
‘Victor is an incredible talent, and while we respect his wishes, the club’s interests must be protected,’ De Laurentiis said. ‘We are committed to concluding the deal responsibly and transparently.’
