Samuel Chukwueze scored twice in AC Milan’s 6-1 demolition of Serie B side, Sassuolo in a Coppa Italia round of 16 game.
The Nigerian scored on 12 and 21 minutes and was on the pitch for the entire duration of the game played at the San Siro. It was his first brace since April 2023 when he netted twice in Villareal’s 3-2 defeat of Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago.
Chukwueze scored his first senior brace in April 2021 in Villarreal’s 5-1 demolition of Levante in a LaLiga game and netted his second in November 2022 when Villarreal mauled lower league side, CD Santa Amalia in a Copa del Rey game.
In England, Wilfred Ndidi made his 14th straight start in the Premier League this season and 192nd in 206 appearances since 2017 when he joined Leicester City from Belgian Jupiler Pro League side, KRC Genk.
The Nigerian, 27, inspired the Foxes under new manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy to record their first win in their last four games and recorded his 80th win in the in 206 Premier League games, the eighth most by a Nigerian in Premier League history after Mikel Obi (149 in 249 games), Nwankwo Kanu (113 in 273 games), Alex Iwobi (106 in 266 matches), Shola Ameobi (105 in 298 games), Victor Moses (103 in 220 games), Joseph Yobo (91 in 228 games) and Celestine Babayaro (88 in 179 appearances).

The Nigerian was subbed on for Patrik Schick on 61 minutes and scored the only goal of the game eight minutes later off an Álex Grimaldo assist.
It was the 25 year old’s first Cup goal in Germany and first in 16 appearances across all competitions this season and seventh in 55 games since he joined the reigning German Bundesliga champions in Augsut 2023.
