Eguavoen: We are ready for any system or formation Rwanda will come up with

Super Eagles interim manager, Austin Eguavoen says he has the players to deal with whatever Amavubi coach, Torsten Splitter throw at them in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Amahoro stadium in Kigali on Tuesday.

The Nigerians won their opening game of the campaign with a comprehensive bashing of the Cheetahs of Republic of Benin 3-0 in Uyo on Saturday while the Amavubi of Rwanda forced Libya to 1-1 draw three days earlier.

Eguavoen insists his players are ready for the game and fulfil Nigerians’ expectations of a win.

‘We have quality players who can play in different formations and styles of football, different systems. So, whatever style or formation Rwanda comes up with tomorrow (Tuesday), we have the personnel who can deal with it,’ said Eguavoen at he pre-match press conference in Kigali on Monday afternoon.

Eguavoen says Nigerians expect them to come to Rwanda and win and they will try to fulfil the expectations but insists they are not underrating their host.

‘Nigerians are expectant, they expect us to win no matter who we play. We have come here, we give people (teams) respect but we will get the result. We respect them (Amavubi). You don’t look down on teams these days because football has changed.

‘You can get shocked if you look down on any team and any country that plays against Nigeria always raise their game, so we have to be ready,’ said the former Nigeria defender and captain.
