Ejuke injured, doubtful for Super Eagles November 2025 AFCON games
Chidera Ejuke is doubtful for the Super Eagles’ final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Rwanda and Benin Republic following the injury he suffered in his club, Sevilla’s 5-1 hammering by Barcelona in a LaLiga match week 10 fixture on Sunday.
The lively Nigerian who was one of the few Sevilla players giving Barcelona a few troubles at the start of the game suddenly went down on the turf in the 45th minute and put his hands on his harmstrings.
He was later led out of the pitch with the help of the club’s medical services and unable to rest his left leg on the ground.
Sevilla head coach, García Pimienta also confirmed the Nigerian may have been injured albeit he said no test has been conducted yet.
‘We will have to do tests, but he is injured for sure. He felt a puncture at the back, in the hamstring, and that’s surely an injury,’ said Pimienta.
Ejuke only returned to the Super Eagles nest this month after a long absence and the winger looks like he will now be out for the final games of the qualifiers pending the decision by CAF regarding the botched Libya Vs Nigeria game.
