Electoral Committee releases Approved Timelines for 2025 National Sports Federation Elections

The Electoral Committee of the National Sports Federation has officially released the approved nomination form and comprehensive election timeline for the highly anticipated 2025 National Sports Federation Elections.
Starting from 6th September to 11th September 2025, aspirants can collect and submit their nomination forms at the Secretariat of their respective Federations during official working hours.
This marks the first step in a carefully structured electoral process aimed at ensuring transparency and inclusivity.
The revised schedule outlines critical dates for constituency screenings, zonal elections, petitions, and the final national elections.
The Zonal Representative Elections are scheduled for 20th September 2025 while the National Elections and Inauguration are to hold on 4th October 2025 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Incredibly, petition hearings and possible bye-elections are scheduled to hold after the inauguration of the boards until October 15, 2025.
Speaking on behalf of the Committee, Secretary Rita Mosindi emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the guidelines.
‘We are committed to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections that will strengthen the growth and development of sports in Nigeria,’ said Mosindi, a former Secretary General of the Athletcs Federation of Nigeria, AFN, who was indicted for her role in Nigeria’s negative exposure at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Stakeholders, member federations, and aspirants are urged to follow the approved procedures and timelines to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.
