Enekwechi is Sole Representative at World Indoor Championships

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will be Nigeria’s sole representative at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland, after the entry lists confirmed his participation.

The 33-year-old shot put specialist is making his third consecutive appearance at the championships, having finished sixth on his debut in Glasgow in 2024 and fifth in Nanjing in 2025.

Enekwechi enters the competition ranked seventh in the world this season with a best throw of 21.28m. His consistency has been evident, with previous championship marks of 21.60m in Glasgow and 21.25m in Nanjing.

This time, he is aiming to break into the podium places and deliver Nigeria’s first medal at the indoor event.
