Enekwechi to resume Diamond League action in Silesia before Rome

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will return to the Diamond League arena on August 25, three months after he made his season’s debut in the competition at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

The 31-year-old is among the 11 athletes’ organizers of the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia, Poland unveiled Monday.

The Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial is the 12th leg of the 15 leg meetings, athletics’ premier one-day series.

Enekwechi finished sixth in Paris and is also in the sixth and qualifying slot for the Diamond League final set for Brussels, Belgium in September.

The Nigerian has now been given two windows to enable him to secure his place in the Diamond League final after his earlier confirmation for the Golden Gala in Rome, Italy at the end of the month.

Enekwechi will face familiar foes in Rome, most of whom he competed against in the final of the event at the Paris Olympics led by world record-holder Ryan Crouser who won the gold as well as fellow medalists – Joe Kovacs and Rajindra Campbell.

Also, in are Payton Otterdahl, Leonardo Fabbri, Jacko Gill and Zane Weir.
