Enoch Adegoke Sets New 60m Personal Best in Dortmund

kyo 2020 Olympic 100m finalist Enoch Adegoke has set a new lifetime best in the 60m at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze event, held in Dortmund, Germany on Saturday.

The 25-year-old Nigerian sprinter clocked 6.71 seconds, improving on his previous best of 6.73 set four years ago at the Nationales Breuninger Hallenmeeting in Erfurt, Germany. Despite the personal milestone, Adegoke’s time was not enough to secure a place in the final.

Another Nigerian, Fola Olaoye, advanced from his heat with a time of 6.70 seconds and went on to run 6.60 seconds in the final, equaling his personal best for the third time this season, to finish fourth overall.

Adegoke, who dominated the Nigerian track scene in 2021 and became the first Nigerian in 25 years to reach an Olympic 100m final, continues to rebuild his form on the European indoor circuit. His latest performance signals steady progress as he eyes a return to the global stage.
