Enough Is Enough: NFF Moves Against Bad Officiating

The Nigeria Football Federation has voiced strong dissatisfaction with the standard of refereeing across all domestic leagues following a comprehensive review of match officials’ performances.
Rising from its meeting in Abuja, the Executive Committee condemned the alarming level of poor officiating recorded in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women Football League and the Nationwide League One.
The Federation described the conduct of a significant number of referees as unacceptable, citing incompetence, questionable decision‑making, collusion with club officials and outright manipulation of matches to favour certain teams.
The NFF warned that tougher sanctions are imminent as part of a renewed drive to restore integrity, fairness and professionalism to the Nigerian game.
It stressed that the era of impunity is over and that any official found compromising the credibility of domestic competitions will face decisive consequences.
