Enyimba fined N1 million for misconduct

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, have fined Enyimba FC of Aba N1 million for misconduct capable of bringing the game to disrepute.

The club have also been warned to desist from similar act in future and advised to use appropriate channels to make their complaints as a recurrence will lead to stiffer sanctions.

Enyimba have been charged for breaching the NPFL Framework and Rules in the course of their Matchday 9 fixture vs Ikorodu City at the Enyimba Stadium on Sunday.

The Aba club was charged for publishing disparaging comments against match officials on their social media handle (X, formerly known as Twitter).

The published comments by the People’s Elephant are capable of bringing the game to disrepute.

Enyimba have the rights to appeal to the sanctions within 48 hours of the date of notice.
