African long jump queen, Ese Brume is listed to compete Thursday at the 2024 Meeting International de Montreuil in France, just two days before her advertised appearance at the adidas Atlanta City Games in Atlanta, SportsNow can report.

Ese, the 2021 Olympics bronze medalist and 2022 World Indoor silver medalist is listed as the 11th athlete on the start list for the event scheduled to start 7.30pm Nigerian time (8.30 in Paris, France).

The Nigerian is expected to face fellow African, Marthe Koala of Burkina Faso at the meeting and will be aiming to extend her head-to-head record over the African Games silver medalist to 8-3 with the Nigerian winning two of their last three meetings.

She will also compete for the top prize against Lorraine Ugen of Great Britain and USA’s Quanesha Burks who is also listed to compete in Atlanta on May 18.

Brume will be hoping to make her third leap into the Olympics arena following appearances in 2016 and 2021. The 28 year old holds a 6.84m personal season’s best and needs to jump 6.86m to seal her spot in Paris where she will be seeking to become the first Nigerian to win two individual medals at the Olympics.

The reigning African Games champion is making her second straight appearance in the competition after making her debut last year.
