Europa League: Osimhen denied first Galatasaray goal, Dele-Bashiru nets first in Europe

Victor Osimhen was denied his first goal as a Galatasaray player for the second time in three after he goal-bond goal against PAOK FC of Greece in the Europa League was credited as an own goal by Baba Rahman.

The Nigerian thought he had scored when his header passed the legs of Rahman at the start of the second half.

Like he did when he thought his goal against Rizespor in a Turkisg Super Lig game was his, Osimhen wheeled away in celebration before the goal was given to Abdülkerim Bardakcı who helped the ball home with a touch.

The 25-year-old was however as his third assist in three games was counted to help put Galatasaray 2-1 up after Giannis Konstantelias restored parity for the visitors to theRams Global Stadyumu in Istanbul.

At the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany where Dynamo Kyiv of Ukraine play their home games because of the war, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored his first ever senior goal in Europe when he helped Lazio to a 3-o win.

The Nigerian scored once in eight UEFA Youth League games for Manchester City’s U19 side while his senior goal came in his first game in Europe at that level.

At the Allianz Riviera in Nice, France, Sadiq Umar was not dressed as his side, Real Sociedad forced their host, OGC Nice to a 1-1 draw.

Sadiq has scored four times in the competition.
