Everton 1-1 Fulham: Beto grabs stoppage time equalizer to deny Iwobi 105th Premier League win

Substitute Beto scored a 94th minute equalizer to deny Alex Iwobi his 105th win in the Premier League on his 262nd appearance.

The Nigerian had given his side, Fulham a 61st minute goal from an Emile Smith-Rowe’s assist with Iwobi and the Cottagers seemingly looking to have bounced back from their two back-to-back defeats to Man City and Aston Villa.

Beto however had other ideas after he was subbed on for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 81st minute. The Guinea-Bissau-born forward’s stoppage-time equaliser secured a point for Everton who extended their unbeaten run to five Premier League matches.

Victory would have taken the former Arsenal player to 105 Premier League wins in 262 appearances, drawing level with Shola Ameobi as the third joint Nigerian with most wins in the history of the competition.

Iwobi is still fourth on the list of Nigerian with the most Premier League wins in history while Chelsea legend, Mikel Obi holds the record with 149 wins in the 249 appearances he made in the competition between 2006 and 2016 all for the west London side.

Mikel is followed by Nwankwo Kanu who won as many as 113 games in 273 appearances in the competition for Arsenal and Portsmouth while Ameobi, with 105 wins from 298 appearances in the colours of Newcastle (294) and Crystal Palace (4) is third.

Iwobi has moved a win above Victor Moses this season with 104 wins while Joseph Yobo (91) and Celestine Babayaro (88) complete the top seven list.
