Ezekiel Nathaniel runs seconds fastest time of career, says he is ready for Paris 2024 Olympics

Nigeria’s 400m hurdles record holder, Ezekiel Nathaniel ran 48.21, his second career fastest time to win Saturday morning at the Mike Holloway Pro Classic 2024, a World Athletics Continental Tour – Silver event held in Gainesville, Florida.

The Nigerian, 21, led from the start to the finish, shrugging off the challenge by American, Robinson Christopher who faded at the home straight to hand Nathaniel a huge lead.

Nathaniel said post race that he was happy with his race held in wet conditions.

‘You know the 400m hurdles is all about techniques and that is what I came to practice here. I feel I am ready for the Olympics,’ said the 2024 NCAA outdoor championships bronze medalist.

Nathaniel’s time is the second fastest of his career after running 48.00 seconds in Waco, Texas last May.

He is looking to become the Nigerian to run in the final of the event after Henry Amike who placed eighth in the final at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
