Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, are on course for glory at the WAFU B U20 Girls Cup in Bénin Republic after back-to-back wins over Ghana and the hosts. Janet Akekoromowei and Ramotalahi Kareem were the standout performers, each netting a brace in their respective matches.

Akekoromowei struck twice in the Falconets’ 3-0 opening win over Ghana, with Favour Nkwocha adding the third.

The following day, Kareem scored in both halves against Bénin Republic, before Precious Oscar sealed a 3-0 victory late on.

With only three teams in the tournament, each side will face the others twice.

The Falconets, now top of the table with six points and a +5 goal difference, will meet Ghana again on Tuesday before wrapping up the group stage against the hosts on Wednesday.
