Fulham 2-1 Chelsea: João Félix Makes Unwanted History On His EPL Debut As Blues Crash Again

Joao Félix has become the first player to be sent off for Chelsea on their Premier League debut, and the first to do so for any club since Federico Fazio for Spurs vs Manchester City in October 2014.

The Portuguese completed a loan switch from LaLiga side, Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and was handed his first start less than 30 hours later by Graham Potter.

Felix’s debut had started so promising and was looking lively for the Blues but it ended in disaster on 58 minutes, after Chelsea had cancelled Fulham’s first half opener.

The Atletico Madrid loanee got his marching orders after flying into a reckless challenge on Kenny Tete.

Fulham, looking for their first win against Chelsea in the Premier League since March 2006 drew the first blood with former Blues player Willian scoring against his former club.

The Brazilian became in the process the 26th player to score against Chelsea in the Premier League after previously playing for them in the competition; Chelsea have now had the most such players score against them of any side in the competition.

Chelsea equalised after the restart before Vinicius scored what proved to be the winner for the host at Craven Cottage.

Chelsea have now lost six of their last eight matches in all competitions, their most defeats over any eight-game period since December 1993.

Meanwhile, Fulham are the first newly promoted club to have as many as 31 points after 19 Premier League matches since Wigan Athletic in 2005-06 (34), while they have won four games in a row in the top-flight for the first time since April 1966.
