Fulham boss, Marco Silva hails Chukwueze’s impact but stays coy on permanent deal

Marco Silva has made it clear he is delighted with Samuel Chukwueze’s impact at Fulham, even if he is not yet ready to discuss whether the club will trigger the permanent option in the winger’s loan deal from AC Milan.

The Nigerian international has been in sparkling form over the past three matches, setting up the winner against Sunderland, starring in Fulham’s first Premier League away victory of the season at Tottenham, and scoring twice in quick succession against Manchester City to almost inspire a comeback from 5-1 down.

Silva praised Chukwueze’s attitude and influence in the dressing room, describing him as a player who brings ‘good vibes’ and enjoys the fight with his teammates.

He stressed that Fulham will take their time before making a decision on his future, but acknowledged that the winger’s quality and maturity are shining through as he adapts to the physical demands of English football.

The Fulham boss believes Chukwueze’s experience at Villarreal and Milan has prepared him for the pressures of the Premier League, and his creativity and directness are now giving Fulham a new dimension in attack.

Silva’s comments ahead of the London derby with Crystal Palace underline how valuable the Nigerian has become in a short space of time.
