Inter Milan are refusing to back down in their pursuit of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, despite suffering a major setback after Atalanta rejected their second bid.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri had hoped to finalize the deal early in August. However, their latest offer—€42 million plus €3 million in add-ons—was turned down by the Bergamo-based club, who had previously rejected an initial €40 million bid.

The rejection has reportedly infuriated Lookman, who responded by scrubbing all references to Atalanta from his social media accounts, including photos of himself in the club’s kit. The move is seen as a clear signal of his desire to leave.

Despite the impasse, Inter Milan remain confident. The club believes their offer is fair and do not intend to raise it further. Instead, they are banking on Lookman to apply pressure on Atalanta to reconsider.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international is said to be adamant about joining Inter, having already agreed to personal terms that include a five-year contract worth €5 million per season. His determination to force the move could prove decisive in the coming days.

While Atalanta continue to hold out for a valuation closer to €60 million, Inter are standing their ground, hoping that Lookman’s stance will tip the scales in their favor.
