Gift Orban’s Most Valuable Player In Belgium!
Nigeria and KAA Gent forward, Gift Orban is Belgian Pro League’s newly crowned most valuable player.
The 20 year old Nigerian came into limelight in February after his winter transfer from Norwegian side, Stabæk.
He bagged a four-goal haul in the league against Zulte Waregem in mid-March, the fastest hat-trick in a European competition just days later, a spectacular shot off the crossbar against Standard Liege from the halfway line – and a total of 20 goals in 22 competitive games since his arrival in Belgium on deadline day in January.
Bart Tamsyn, Area Manager of Transfermarkt Belgium says Orban, linked with four Ligue 1 sides, Barcelona and Manchester United says the Nigerian will be hard to keep by KAA Gent this summer after his impressive displays.
‘Despite only making the move to Belgium in January, Orban has already gained a reputation for himself that far surpasses the nation.
‘The 20-year-old Nigerian should therefore be hard to keep in the summer window and may bring in a fee far higher than the €3.3m that Gent paid for him,’ says area manager Tamsyn about the league’s new MVP, who is now valued at €20m (+€11m) – as recently as January he was valued at just €1m.
Victor Boniface who also plays in the Belgian Pro League is among the 10 most valuable players in Belgium as he is valued rose from €6m in March to €12m.
