Golden Eaglets Intensify Preparations for WAFU-B U17 Tournament

Nigeria’s U17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, continued their build-up to next month’s WAFU-B U17 Boys Tournament with a commanding 5–0 victory over Winsome FC in a friendly match played on Wednesday at the FIFA Goal Project, MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The five-time world champions were two goals ahead at halftime and added three more in the second half, showcasing sharp attacking play and defensive discipline. Winsome FC, based in Oporoza Island, Warri South West, Delta State, struggled to contain the Eaglets’ pace and precision.

Led by Head Coach Manu Garba, the team has been engaged in intensive training and a series of test matches aimed at fine-tuning tactics and squad chemistry ahead of the regional tournament.

The win over Winsome FC marks the fourth friendly match for the Eaglets in camp. Earlier, they defeated Espora Football Academy of Abuja 4–0, edged GASA of Ilorin 1–0, and came from behind to beat Bandex Football Academy of Kebbi 3–2.

Coach Garba and his technical crew continue to assess players and build a competitive squad capable of representing Nigeria with pride and excellence at the WAFU-B U17 Championship.
