GOtv Boxing Night 34: Dodoo vows to silence Lagos in clash with ID Buster
Ghanaian light-heavyweight contender Nii Offei Dodoo has issued a fiery warning to Nigeria’s Rasheed ‘ID Buster’ Idowu ahead of their Boxing Day showdown at GOtv Boxing Night 34, promising to shock the home crowd and derail the champion’s rise.
Dodoo, who has built a reputation for resilience and tactical discipline, said the Lagos bout is ‘the perfect stage to humble a loud opponent.’
He dismissed Idowu’s confidence as misplaced, insisting that raw punching power will not be enough to overcome his ring intelligence.
‘Boxing is not a street fight. It’s strategy, timing, and patience. If ID Buster thinks he will overwhelm me, he is making a big mistake. I am coming to silence Lagos,’ Dodoo declared.
The Ghanaian also suggested Idowu has grown ‘too comfortable’ fighting at home, buoyed by the crowd and atmosphere.
‘He has the noise, but none of that can help him when the bell rings. I didn’t come to Nigeria to admire the city, I came to win,’ he added.
The Dodoo vs Idowu clash is one of six bouts scheduled for GOtv Boxing Night 34: Jams Festival, which will also feature live music performances from artistes including Shoday. Organisers describe the event as one of December’s biggest sporting spectacles, blending boxing and entertainment in a festival atmosphere.
GOtv Boxing Night 34 will be broadcast live on SS Africa 1 (GOtv Ch. 63, DStv Ch. 207), with sponsorship from GOtv and support from MultiChoice, ZetaWeb, TheCable, and the Lagos State Sports Commission.
