GOtv Boxing Night 34: Oloyede Vows to Outlast Saddam in Lightweight Showdown
Imole ‘System’ Oloyede has dismissed Saddam ‘Baby Boxer’ Oladipupo’s bold prediction that their national lightweight bout at GOtv Boxing Night 34 will be over in two rounds.
Oloyede insists the fight will be decided by patience and timing rather than early fireworks.
‘Everyone can talk about two rounds,’ Oloyede said. ‘But this is a national fight. I have prepared for every minute. When the pace settles and the noise fades, that is when the real work begins.’
The man nicknamed ‘System’ added that he is unfazed by boasts and name calling, framing the contest as a test of composure.
‘I don’t rush fights,’ he explained. ‘I read them. If Saddam wants to come fast, that is his choice. I will be there from the first bell to the last, and he will understand why they call me System.’
Their clash is tipped to be one of the standout attractions on a stacked GOtv Boxing Night 34: Jams Festival card, which combines elite boxing with live music and entertainment.
The night also features the national super bantamweight title bout between Sodiq ‘Happy Boy’ Adeleke and champion Durotimi ‘Tiny’ Agboola; an international lightweight showdown between Nigeria’s Rasheed ‘ID Buster’ Idowu and Ghana’s Nii Offei Dodoo.
It also includes a national lightweight contest between Segun ‘Odi’ Gbobaniyi and Tobiloba ‘Smiling Assassin’ Ijomoni; a light welterweight battle between Sodiq ‘Smart Lion’ Suleimon and Emmanuel ‘Ability’ Abimbola; and a bantamweight fight between Ezekiel ‘Touch’ Seun and Toheeb ‘Full Tank’ Hassan.
GOtv Boxing Night 34 will be broadcast live on SS Africa 1 (GOtv Ch. 63, DStv Ch. 207). The event takes place at 4:00 p.m. on 26 December at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, and is sponsored by GOtv with support from MultiChoice, ZetaWeb, TheCable and the Lagos State Sports Commission.
