Gyan drops bombshell: ‘Osimhen’s injury is a media diversion

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has found himself at the center of a storm, not just for his injury, but for the controversy it’s sparked across Africa.

After sustaining a moderate ankle sprain with bleeding during Nigeria’s World Cup Qualifier against Rwanda, Galatasaray confirmed he would miss the upcoming Eyüpspor match, though he may return in time for the Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.

But the real shock came from Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s legendary forward and former Kayserispor player, who accused Osimhen of faking the injury to prioritize club commitments over national duty.

‘I know these tricks. Someone told him, ‘We spent a lot of money on you. The Champions League is coming. We don’t want you going to Africa for this break, but go, play a little, lie down, and make it look serious. You’ll be back in Turkey the next day—just to avoid media noise’, Gyan alleged in an interview with Amcnews24.

Gyan didn’t stop there. He claimed Osimhen would soon be seen ‘running vigorously’ in both the Turkish Super League and the Champions League, suggesting the injury was exaggerated.

‘No matter how many times he gets kicked there, he won’t lie on the ground. Doctors are also involved. The euro is worth more than the naira.’
