Iheanacho and Ejuke return to Seville to prepare for Barcelona battle

Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke are back in Sevilla after their eventful international break with Nigeria.

The two Sevilla players were in the Nigerian team that was held ‘hostage’ by Libya for almost 20 hours in Al Albrag for the now botched second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya who lost the first leg 1-0 in Uyo, Nigeria.

The players who did not play any minute against Libya in Nigeria, will return to training on Thursday under García Pimienta to prepare for the match against FC Barcelona next Sunday at 9 pm.

While Iheanacho will be seeking to return to reckoning after sitting on the bench for the entire duration of his club’s 1-0 defeat of Real Betis in the Sevill derby played at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and also score his first goal on his sixth appearance, Ejuke will be keen to continue his impressive form which saw him win the club’s player of the month award for September.

Ejuke will also be looking to record his lead as the player that has completed the most successful dribbles in the LaLiga this season.

The Nigerian, who has scored once and made five starts in eight LaLiga appearances this season, leads the top dribbler chart with 28 successful dribbles so far this season.
