Iheanacho Fit for Celtic’s Europa League Clash with Utrecht

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho is fit and available for selection ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash against Utrecht at Celtic Park.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the Scottish champions in September on a free transfer after leaving Sevilla, had made a promising start to life in Glasgow with three goals and one assist in ten appearances before a hamstring injury sidelined him.
His absence saw him miss ten matches during a difficult festive period for Celtic, further limiting their attacking options.
Providing an update on his recovery, O’Neill said Iheanacho has returned to full training and is ready to feature in the crucial European tie.
‘Yes, he has trained and he is available for selection,’ the coach told reporters.
The injury also ruled Iheanacho out of the Africa Cup of Nations, despite his inclusion in Nigeria’s 54-man provisional squad in December.
Now back in contention, the former Leicester City forward will be eager to make his mark at Celtic Park and help the club secure a positive result that could see them advance to the knockout stage of the Europa League.
