Iheanacho Is FA Cup Top Scorer in seven years!

Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has scored more FA Cup goals than any other player currently playing in the competition.

The 26 years old scored the only goal on Saturday against League Two strugglers Gillingham to ensure Leicester City’s passage to the fourth round of the competition.
The goal was the Nigerian’s 16th in the competition in 22 appearances.

Although Tottenham Hotspur captain, Harry Kane has scored one more than the Nigerian in the 26 games he has featured in, the Three Lions captain has however netted only 15 times since January 2016.

Kane’s first two goals came in the 2011/12 season when he fired a brace for his Championship side, Millwall in the 5-0 defeat of Drag and Red FC in the third replay in January 2012.

The 29 year old did not score again until the 2015/15 season, netting once in four appearances.

Interestingly, that was the season Iheanacho made his debut, scoring four times in three games.
