Iheanacho yet to start Sevilla training, thanks Leicester City for seven wonderful years at King Palace stadium

Sevilla are yet to resolve the bureaucratic issues that have prevented Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho from training with his colleagues exactly one week after he joined the LaLiga side as a free agent.

The team returned to training on Wednesday after their 2-1 pre-season defeat of Fulham on Monday in Portugal with the Nigerian a notable absentee.

Sportsnow.com.ng gathered the necessary paperwork between the English FA and the Spanish FA has not been completed that can grant the Nigerian work permit to start working, as it were, in Spain.

Meanwhile, Iheanacho has thanked Leicester City for the wonderful seven years he spent at the club after joining from Man City in July 2017.

He featured in 232 games across all competitions and scored 61 goals for the Foxes. He was also a vital part of the Foxes team that won the FA Cup in 2021, scoring crucial goals including the winner in the 1-0 defeat of Brighton in the fifth round and twice against Man United in the 3-1 win in the quarterfinal and also the winner in the 1-0 defeat of Southampton that secured a place in the final for the King Power outfit side.

“Thank you for the 7 years we shared, I’ll forever cherish our 2021 FA Cup win. Thanks to the owners who brought me to the club, all of my teammates in those years and the amazing Foxes fans!! All the best for the new season,’ he posted on his Instagram page.
